Position Overview
We are currently hiring a reliable and safety-conscious Traffic Controller to join our team. Must have at least a year experience working as a TCP. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around construction zones.
We are looking for Oakridge area as well as Lower Mainland
Responsibilities:
Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around active construction areas
Set up and dismantle traffic control devices such as cones, signage, and barricades
Communicate effectively with construction crews and the public
Monitor and report any safety hazards or incidents
Assist with construction activities and support equipment operations as needed
Collaborate with paving and construction teams to ensure smooth site operations
Requirements:
Minimum 6 months of experience working on construction sites in the Lower Mainland
Fluent in English, with strong verbal communication skills
Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certification from BCCSA
Own traffic control gear, including:
Hard hat
Steel-toed work boots
Reflective safety vest
Traffic control paddle
Wrist and leg cuffs
Qualifications and Skills
BCCSA Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certification – Required
Knowledge of traffic management and work zone safety protocols
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
Able to remain calm and focused in high-pressure environments
Team-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Pay: $23.00 per hour
